As EBAN goes to Press, a helicopter crash off the French Riviera has killed five people. The accident, which occurred on the afternoon of June 9, involved a Heli Air Monaco helicopter en route from Nice to Monaco.

The aircraft crashed into the sea a mile off the coast of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, killing the pilot and all four passengers. A spokesman for the Monaco principality said that weather conditions on the day of the accident were good and the cause of the crash is still unclear.

Nice airport is said to have alerted Monaco heliport control after they lost contact with the single rotor Ecureuil helicopter.
