Fast-expanding Frankfurt Hahn appoints AirRep as exclusive handler
Frankfurt Hahn Airport, Germany, has appointed AirRep as the exclusive handler for all aircraft of 15 passengers or less. Last year the airport saw almost 5,000 aircraft movements in this sector, and the appointment of AirRep as vip and general aviation handler is intended to appeal to the growing number of passengers. The appointment reduces the number of air side security checkpoints, in keeping with German civil aviation moves to comply with the latest EU aviation security regulations.

The airport will continue to provide handling and security services for all aircraft of more than 15 passengers.

“With increased security measures now in operation throughout Europe, it is more attractive for vips to utilise private jets,” said Maria Muller, Frankfurt Hahn’s marketing director.

“The AirRep facility adjoins the aircraft parking area, and has everything under one roof: business lounge, security and passport checking,” she continued. \r

“Processing of inbound crew and passengers to land side is typically achieved in 10 to 15 minutes.”

The facility can accommodate

15 aircraft simultaneously and

offers a briefing/debriefing suite, operations room, catering unit

and other amenities. The company

is also capable of providing collection and delivery of crew

and vip passengers, a booking service for accommodation, chauffeured limousines and self-drive car hire.

AirRep has been handling executive and general aviation for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft at Frankfurt Hahn for three years, and has increased its terminal space threefold to accommodate its newly-expanded responsibility.

The company also provides in-flight catering and duty-free services for passenger and cargo airlines, including Ryanair.

The airport is open 24 hours a

day, seven days a week, and does

not require pre-booked slots for inbound aircraft.

Its main terminal building was recently expanded and can accommodate up to five million passengers per year.
