Avionics Mobile Services has received the first EASA STC approval for the installation of its enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS) on a BAe systems Jetstream 31

series aircraft.

The contract was awarded to Avionics by a Greek operator based in Athens and the installation work was carried out in Biella, northern Italy.

The system features a terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS), and provides a Honeywell Mk VI EGPWS processor, an integral GPS receiver as well as a moving map, terrain and radar displays on an

LCD screen.

The company submitted its modification application to the CAA after September 28, 2003, when aviation certification in Europe made the transition to EASA.
