Gulfstream has received both validation by the JAA and a Type Certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for its Gulfstream G550. Together, the EASA Type Certificate and JAA recommendation letter enable the G550 to be certified and registered within 37 European and neighbouring countries.

Meanwhile, the G550 has set two more city-pair speed records on round-trip flights between the US and Europe. The aircraft has now established a total of 11 city-pair speed records since it entered service in September 2003.

On March 8, a G550 took off from Dulles International Airport in Washington DC and landed seven hours and 24 minutes later at Tempelhof Airport in Berlin, Germany. Three days later, the aircraft took off again, this time from Rotterdam Airport in the Netherlands and landed seven hours and 27 minutes later at Dulles. Gulfstream is awaiting official recognition by the NAA for the two speed records.

Gulfstream G400/G550 inter-national captains Sean Sheldon and Tony Briotta flew both transatlantic flights. Six passengers and three crew members were onboard the

two flights.
