Bombardier claims business is back on the rise
Judith Moreton, managing director of Bombardier Flexjet Europe and Skyjet Europe, has reported that interest in business jets is definitely on the rise. She said: “Increasing airport delays and lengthy security checks mean that some business travellers are turning to business jets to get around in Europe. We fly out of smaller airports with the same security standards but without the hassle.”

The company says it has seen revenues from its charter business, Skyjet Europe, increase by 200 per cent since being launched in

March 2003. “Towards the end of last year, we saw a significant increase in web and phone enquiries – a trend which has continued into the new year. Just this past month, we’ve seen our web activity increase by over 35 per cent,” she said.

After more than two very difficult years, it is the company’s viewpoint that the business jet sector seems to be making a slow recovery. Use of executive jets, it claims, is often a good economic bellwether and an increase in flights and aircraft manufacture is often regarded as evidence of a firming economy.
