FlightSafety International has started construction of its full-service learning centre at Farnborough Airport, just south-west of London. The Farnborough location was chosen as a convenient training location for FlightSafety customers from all over the world. The new facility will be ready for training early next year.
The centre, says FlightSafety, will have the capacity for 14 advanced full flight simulators and provide associated interactive classrooms, high-tech training devices, pilot briefing rooms and comfortable customer service facilities.
The mix of flight simulators and programmes will be determined in the next few months.
Farnborough Airport is undergoing a transformation spearheaded by TAG Aviation.
Said a spokesman: “It is rapidly becoming a business-dedicated airport with every facility needed by the business, corporate and private aircraft operator.
“As the airport’s proprietor, TAG Aviation is creating a tailor-made environment especially for transient and home-based business aircraft. TAG is positioning Farnborough airport as the preferred location for London area business aviation operations.”
