The UK’s Surrey Police has awarded the pilotage and training contract for its new air support unit to PremiAir Aviation Services Limited, according to Police Aviation News. It is expected that the company will be taking on three additional pilots from early 2004.

The Unit, which commences operations next April from its Fairoaks base, is awaiting completion of an EC135 Advanced Police Helicopter – a type PremiAir already flies on behalf of several UK

Police forces.

Captain Ollie Dismore, head of police and utility services at PremiAir, said: “It is interesting to note that we have been supporting Surrey since their earliest days at Dunsfold in 1985 and look forward to continuing the relationship as they develop their new service.”
