London-based Air Charter Service (ACS) was involved in the recent high security flight to South Africa involving Big Brother winner Cameron Stout. In a bid to improve ratings for the TV show, the organisers decided to fly Cameron to the Big Brother house in South Africa and exchange him with a South African contestant.

The Hawker 800 which was used for the 15-hour flight to Johannesburg, was operated by Interflight.

Endemol UK, the production company behind the programme, approached Air Charter Service back in April to secure the flight which had to be kept highly confidential until moments before takeoff.

ACS were also able to advise Endemol regarding the branding of the aircraft with the Big Brother logo and along with Diane Kettle and the rest of the Interflight team, arranged for the Channel Four crew to film takeoff and departure.

Due to the nature of the TV programme, the flight had a meticulous and complex itinerary, which had to take into account detailed timings and specialised catering requirements. ACS charter sales executive Jeffrey Emmenis said: “It was avery detailed flight and after months of preparation it was satisfying to watch it all come together with no complications.”
