Skyjet comes to the rescue
A recent strike by staff at British Airways, Heathrow Airport, has reportedly had a positive impact on Bombardier Aerospace’s European operations, particularly its Skyjet Europe charter service. A recent strike by staff at British Airways, Heathrow Airport, has reportedly had a positive impact on Bombardier Aerospace’s European operations, particularly its Skyjet Europe charter service. As hundreds of flights were cancelled and thousands of passengers found themselves stranded, Skyjet Europe announced a 30 per cent increase

in bookings.

Managing director of Bombardier Skyjet Europe and Bombardier Flexjet Europe, Dan Maiden, said: “Inquiries about our programmes have increased as more and more passengers begin to realise the many benefits business aviation has

to offer. We offer benefits such as greater scheduling flexibility and reliability, as well as no check-in and terminal delays.”

In one instance, a Jet Membership customer contacted Bombardier Flexjet after they were unable to fly out of the UK as planned. The company says it arranged for a flight within just a few hours.

“With the rising level of uncertainty associated with commercial air travel and the possibility of further strikes,” added Maiden, “we can only expect this level of market interest to increase.”
