Sweden’s Rikspolisen has been making use of the eight EC135s it had delivered earlier in the year. The Swedes are among a growing number of countries to have chosen the EC 135 for their police services.

The helicopters are based in Stockholm, Ostersund, Boden, Malmö and Gothenburg.

The Rikspolisen utilises its helicopters for a multitude of missions, including surveillance of the country’s coastline and its island archipelago. In line with its high demands, the Swedish police has selected a comprehensive range of optionals for its EC 135s, including single-pilot IFR instrumentation.

By the autumn of this year, Eurocopter says it will deliver the 300th EC 135, which is destined for the UK.
