BGAD on the move – Cambridge once again plays host to the UK’s favourite business aviation exhibition
Some important changes have been made to the organisation of the BGAD03 event, which is presented by EBAN in association with Marshall Aerospace on Thursday, July 10. To coincide with the launch of Marshall Executive Aviation at Cambridge City Airport and to tie in with the new maintenance facilities for Cessna Citation aircraft available at Marshall Aerospace, we will be moving BGAD03 to the GA Hangar at Cambridge City Airport.

“This is an important development for BGAD," event organiser Mark Ranger said “because it makes the whole organisation process of BGAD much easier for us and more convenient for our guests.” Visitors to BGAD will have easy access to the exhibition directly from the Newmarket Road. The static display area is outside the hangar, with the meeting rooms and catering facilities a matter of a few metres from the exhibition area.

“The natural light in the GA Hangar is excellent and we believe that we have a much stronger package for our exhibitors and visitors alike,” added Ranger.

This view is echoed by Andrew Pearce, sales manager for corporate aircraft at Marshall Aerospace, who commented: “There is a tremendous amount happening for business aviation here at Cambridge. We are refurbishing our facilities for business aircraft operators wishing to avoid the busier London airports. The airport is located in the heart of the country’s fastest developing region and many high tech companies such as Microsoft have chosen to set up offices here, making it perfectly situated to serve their needs.

Cambridge City Airport also has excellent road and rail links to the City of London and the Midlands.

“BGAD is an excellent opportunity for us to promote our Cessna Citation maintenance and executive handling facilities to the business aviation fraternity, who we hope will recognise the benefits of using Cambridge City Airport. As our business aviation focus is changing to the GA Hangar, it seemed a natural decision to move BGAD to its new and improved location.”

The exhibition layout has also been altered to reflect the new location and has been made more informal. The cost of exhibiting is still £495 for the day and that includes a three metre by two metre shell scheme booth, a table, two chairs and a two amp power socket. All exhibitors have to do is to turn up on the morning of the show, put up any display materials that are velcro- receptive and do your business.

As well as the exhibition area, there will be a number of meetings taking place, including Captain John Robinson’s popular compliance issues update, with other sessions to be announced.

The last BGAD, which was staged in 2001, attracted around 500 visitors on the day, who enjoyed the informal mixture of business and a very pleasant day in one of England’s most attractive locations. For exhibitors, that represents a very reasonable return on their investment and many exhibitors commented on the high audience quality. The event is free of charge.
