Garrett Aviation Services has acquired the Cessna Citation light jet FJ44 re-engining business from Sierra Industries of Uvalde, Texas. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The programme modifies the Citation 500 and 501 SP series aircraft with the Eagle wing modification and Williams FJ44-2A fanjet engines, which has now been renamed the Garrett FJ44 Eagle II programme.

As part of the agreement, Garrett takes over Sierra’s STC for the Eagle modification and its recently awarded FAA approval for the Williams retrofit.
