Farnborough, UK-based maintenance facility FASET has gained FAA approval as a repair station. Quality systems manager Andy Nethercott said: “It was a fairly long and complicated process, because the FAA were so busy at the time.
“We had to put in a letter of compliance and a supplement into our maintenance organisation exposition document and after two drafts we were finally accepted.”
The company maintains aircraft ranging from the Lear 35 to the GIV, but specialises in the 125 series. “There is a great deal of US- registered traffic which comes through Farnborough and this opens up that market. The day we received our certificate through the post, we started work on our first US- registered aircraft.
“There are also a couple of N-registered aircraft based here already and the operators are looking favourably upon us to take on their base maintenance,” said Nethercott.
