High demand leads GV owner down charter path
Switzerland’s Jetclub has landed its first GV on AOC. The company has been managing the aircraft since autumn although it has only just been made available for charter. Operations manager Jurg Meuli told EBAN: “So far we haven’t published too much information on the GV, as it’s mainly used by the owners. But obviously there is a high demand for an aircraft such as this, so we will fit the charter work around the owner’s trips. So far the kind of flights it’s been making have been long-range, to destinations which include China and the US.”

Jetclub generally operates GIVs and jumped at the chance to make the step up. “It’s not been a problem accommodating this aircraft in our fleet because of the experience we have with GIVs. The owners haven’t really made any modifications to the aircraft and were simply looking for a quick delivery. It has a 15-passenger interior, but usually carries around four or six people. Obviously the entertainment system is state-of-the-art,” said Meuli.

The company has already had a great deal of interest in the aircraft from its international clientele. Meuli said: “I think in the future we are going to see a lot more demand for these long-range aircraft, with the direction the market’s taking. With our current momentum it’s just been difficult to stop expanding, so I’m sure there will soon be more additions to our fleet.”

He added: “We’re based at the Zimex business aviation centre at Zurich Airport. The location is perfect for business aviation because all the facilities we need are here; the only disadvantage is the night curfew.”
