With the intention to build on its Le Touquet service, LyddAir says that it is hoping to purchase a new aircraft. The Shorts 330, a twin-turbo prop airliner, has been selected by the company as the next aircraft type to join its fleet.
LyddAir believes the 30-seater aircraft will allow expansion into other routes and is particularly looking at new routes to the Channel Islands and Antwerp. In addition to these extra routes, the 330 would also be used to add capacity to the Le Touquet route during the summer, which the company says may also be expanded to continue on to Paris.
The 330 is expected to be in operation by the early part of 2003.
