Diamond adds Swiss-German sister
Germany’s Diamond Aircraft Service has added a sister company in the form of charterers Deutschweizer Flugdienst. Sales manager Axel Beimdiek said: “Our general manager Walter Krombach chose this particular company because there were no large overheads and he knew the chief pilot very well. We now want to increase the fleet and are in the process of certifying a King Air 300 for our AOC.”

Diamond bought the aircraft around six months ago and has since completely refurbished it, overhauled the engine and updated the avionics. “We tried to sell it, but the market is quite low at the moment. So we thought we’d put it on the AOC, fly it a little and then sell it later. The company already owned a Cheyenne when we bought it, but it’s slightly limited to the number of people it can hold. This latest aircraft has a larger cabin, a fantastic interior along with good speed and range.

“We will also be offering a Cessna Caravan for charter. Our other sister company Com Air deals with lot of Caravan sales and as this one hasn’t sold, we’re putting it on our AOC,” said Beimdiek.

The three companies are now working in unison. Beimdiek explained: “If we have an aircraft available through Com Air, we can put it out to charter through Deutschweizer Flugdienst and maintain it through Diamond.”
