Air Total and Leeds-based Multiflight
have announced the opening of a
new 180,000 litre Avtur/Jet A1 fuel
farm at Leeds Bradford international
airport in the UK.
The new fuel farm forms part of
the £8 million Multiflight redevelopment
scheme at Leeds/Bradford,
which includes a new taxiway,
aprons and hangars. With the recent
arrival of Jet2 and Planet Air at Leeds
Bradford, the fuel facilities, says
Multiflight, will provide itself and the
region with first class passenger
handling services for large air
transport aircraft.
Multiflight says the new fuel
facility exceeds all the latest
environmental and regulation
requirements.
“We worked very closely with
Air Total and also Airfield
Fuelling Equipment to ensure the
design of this new facility was
purpose-built for our requirements,”
said Steve Borrowdale, managing
director of Multiflight.
“It has made our southside
operations considerably more
efficient. We will now operate two
fuel bowsers both with pressure and
overwing facilities which allow our
new FBO to be self-sufficient in
terms of handling facilities. This is
great news for the region.”
The new hangars have increased
Multiflight’s hangarage at Leeds
by 6,150 square meters, which
allows for four BBJ2s or similar type
aircraft. There is also a new taxiway
directly to Multiflight’s new ramp
from the main runway.
Multiflight’s handling department
is now able to handle and
accommodate aircraft up to Boeing
757 size. As the Leeds Bradford
Airports South Side general
and business aviation service
provider, Multiflight carries out
handling, charter, maintenance and
aircraft sales.
