ACE 2026 - The home of global charter.
The bimonthly news publication for aviation professionals.
The UK’s General Aviation Manufacturers & Traders Association (GAMTA) has
welcomed the publication of the long-waited Aviation White Paper.
Representing its members and as part of the Freedom2Fly Coalition, it was
deeply involved in the consultations that produced the white paper.
GAMTA says it was pleased that its views on the importance of access for the
business and general aviation sectors were generally reflected in the white paper.
It welcomed the sections relating to regional airports and airports
such as Farnborough, Biggin Hill and Northolt that provide for business and
general aviation. Said GAMTA chief executive Mark Wilson: “We argued strongly
for the need for access to all major population centres for business aircraft and
strong regional links to enable our flexible general aviation sector to flourish.
Study after study shows how important such access is to local economic growth.”
He concludes: “Business aircraft are some of the cleanest in the sky.”
