The first CAE Sim XXI has received Level-D qualification for the Gulfstream IV-SP full-flight simulator located at the Emirates-CAE Flight Training centre in Dubai. Concurrently, Level D certification was received for the centre’s new Hawker 800/800 XP full-flight simulator.
Level-D qualification is the highest level of performance for flight training. Europe’s JAA and the
US’s FAA qualified both devices on November 14.
Launched in 2002, CAE says its Sim XXI is the next generation of full-flight simulators, with its modular design and based on Windows and PC technologies.
Said a spokesman: “CAE Sim XXI is designed to simplify assembly, test and integration, and to reduce life-cycle cost. It represents the latest advances in simulation technologies and has significantly impacted the company’s manufacturing processes, which have helped reduce simulator build-time by more than 50 per cent.
Features of the CAE Sim XXI technology are now being applied across CAE’s family of training products, covering both the civil and military markets.
The Emirates-CAE training centre is jointly operated by CAE and the Emirates Group under a long-
term teaming alliance. A new larger 14-bay facility is set to open officially this December.
