Safire’s six-place twin-turbofan-powered Safire Jet, priced at $1.395, is scheduled to make its first flight next year, with deliveries beginning in 2006.

Earlier this year, Safire signed contracts with other major suppliers including Williams international for the FJ33-4 turbofan engines; Avidyne Corporation for the FlightMax Entegra integrated flight deck; Apex Engineering for the wing, empennage and engine nacelles; and Metalcraft Technologies for the fuselage.
