Elbe Air has recently bought a new Falcon 900. The company will be adding the aircraft to its fleet for vip passenger flights.
Marketing manager Frank Goblet said, “We chose the Falcon 900 because it is the ideal aircraft for the range of services we are offering,” he said. “It’s also the right combination for our future business plans. It will appeal to the customers who we would like to attract.”
The German company has only just purchased the aircraft and expects to take delivery of it within the next month.
It is due to enter service towards the end of November.
Goblet has no doubts that the new aircraft will be successful. “It will be very popular because it’s going to be the only commercial Falcon 900 in Germany,” he said. “It’s a similar story with our Falcon 20, which is
the only aircraft of its kind operating in Germany. We have quite a good niche market.
“It’s a top vip aircraft, with an ideal range and a third engine,” he added.
“It will be flying all kinds of ad hoc missions all over the world,” Goblet explained.
“We have already received several requests from our clients for business trips to Africa, North America, the Middle East and also trips within Europe.
The company has considered purchasing a further smaller model in addition to the Falcon 900. “We’ve considered a smaller Falcon 50. That would give us the whole range of Falcon Dassault aircraft,” he said. “We have the 20s for intra-European services and we have a Falcon 900 for intercontinental services. It would be nice to have a smaller aircraft, like the 50, to fit the market in between.”
In respect of the European economic situation, Goblet said: “It’s not great and we are not seeing a huge rise in figures, but we’re fairly secure. “We feel that this aircraft is a good solution for us. We wouldn’t make such a big investment if we had any doubts.”
