Mann Aviation Group Engineering (MAGE), in cooperation with ESG Electroniksystem und Logistik GmbH of Germany, has completed a programme of mission avionic upgrades for two German police BK117 helicopters.

The programme included the complete integration of police role equipment including FLIR/TV gyro stabilised camera system, SX16 IFCO Nightsun with laserpointer, direction finder/tracker, microwave downlink and NVG/NVIS modi-fication and integration.

Meanwhile, following on from its cockpit instrument modifications for Eurocopter EC 135s, MAGE has

been selected for a further contract to support the Eurocopter modi-fication programme on German border guard helicopters.

It has developed a range of NVG capability upgrades for avionic control display units.

These upgrades are undertaken with the approval of the original equipment manufacturer and certified by both the Civil Aviation Authority and LBA.
