North-east UK to gain second helicopter

Police air support in the north-east of England is set to be upgraded, reports Police Aviation News. Cleveland Police Authority has backed plans to buy a second helicopter to cover the north-east. Currently the service provides support to three regional police forces – Northumbria, Durham and Cleveland.

The North East Air Support Unit currently operates with one EC135T1.
