ACE 2026 - The home of global charter.
The bimonthly news publication for aviation professionals.
Thrane & Thrane will start customer deliveries of its Aero-HSD (high-speed data) satcom avionics by the end of 2003.
The system is the culmination of three years’ development work, combining the Inmarsat Aero-H – the improved version of the Aero-H service – with Inmarsat’s Swift64 high-speed data services.
The Aero-HSD provides multi-channel voice, fax, PC modem data, ISDN, MPDS and cockpit communication. As well as being able to make telephone calls, users will be able to send emails, browse the internet, send faxes and conduct video conferences.
The system is available in two versions – four-channel (64kbps) and five-channel. Thrane & Thrane says it has been installed on a Royal Danish Air Force Challenger aircraft and on a Dassault Falcon 2000EX demonstrator.
The demonstrator is appearing in the static park at this year’s NBAA Convention in Orlando, Florida.
