Gulfstream Aerospace has received type certification for its large-cabin, ultra-long-range Gulfstream G550 from the FAA.

The certification is one of the last steps required before the aircraft of a new model series can be delivered to a customer. The first G550 cutomer, a large international corporation, will take delivery of its G550 in September.

Meanwhile, Honeywell’s Primus Epic integrated avionics system has received its first FAA type certification for the G550.

Gulfstream’s PlaneView cockpit for the aircraft drives four 10 by 13 inch liquid crystal displays in a point-and-click, windows-type environment.
