London City Jet Centre has moved into profit for the first time since its launch in September last year. Richard Gooding, md of London City Airport and the Jet Centre, said: “In the first quarter of 2003 we handled 780 movements, a 32 per cent increase on 2002.

“To date, our performance demonstrates that the major London area airports, which traditionally business aviation has relied on, are facing capacity restraints forcing them to focus on more valuable commercial traffic. This puts us in a very strong position to further grow our business in this niche at the top end of the business travel market. As access to London area airports continue to decline, we expect to maintain this level of growth throughout 2003.”
