Jet Aviation has expanded the refurbishment facilities at its Zurich facility. The facility, as well as undertaking aircraft maintenance and exterior painting, now offers partial and complete refurbishment services to a range of business aircraft including Citations, Hawkers, Beechjets and King Airs.

The company recently installed a refurbished cabin in a Citation VII for NetJets. Specialists stripped, dyed and reconditioned the aircraft’s leather seats, while new carpeting was installed. The upper and lower sidewalls and headliners were recovered with flame-retardant fabric and the aircraft’s wood tables,

galley and armrests were treated to a fresh layer of veneer. In addition, gold-metal plating was applied to the galley sink, cup holders and lamp fixtures.

Two Hawker 800s were also recently refurbished at the Zurich operation after being repainted in the on-site hangar. They received similar treatment to the Citation with new carpeting, freshly veneered wood tables and recovered seats, sidewalls and headliners.

“We maintain close synergies with our renowned completions facility in Basel. With the help of Basel’s craftsmen and a network of external specialists, we can install major interior refurbishments as well as minor touch-ups in Zurich,” said Werner Aerne, general manager.

Meanwhile, negotiations have been finalised for new fuel agreements with Shell, ExxonMobil and BP to offer discounted fuel rates to its aircraft management customers and aircraft charter fleet in Europe, the Middle and Far East.

According to Christoph Thurnherr, head of purchasing for Jet Aviation in Zurich, the company now offers fuel discounts to nearly 300 destinations, resulting in customer savings of up to 60 per cent compared to posted airfield prices. “By working with three major fuel suppliers worldwide and various smaller suppliers, mainly in the Middle East, we are able to pass on 100 per cent of their savings to our aircraft management customers,” said Thurnherr.
