London City Airport Jet Centre has made a successful application for its AOC. Gary Hodgetts, deputy director of operations policy, said: “We believe that we are the first UK organisation to qualify for a worldwide AOC, rather than an initial European AOC. I think we are also the first UK airport with its own AOC, which enables us to operate our Falcon 900EX without restrictions.”
Airport md Richard Gooding added: “The corporate aviation market is a growing sector of European aviation and we believe that the market will reach North American levels in the next few years. To date our total investment in the Jet Centre and the aircraft exceeds $45 million and we are confident that market demand will force expansion and encourage us to purchase a second aircraft.”
