Aero Services handling more and more traffic

Aero Services Handling / ASM located at Paris Le Bourget Airport (LBG) has recently increased its aircraft parking area by 3,500 square metres after signing an agreement with Aeroport de Paris (ADP).

Steve Gulvin, manager handling services, said: “This additional parking, which is capable of supporting up to B757 type aircraft, now means that we have more than 15,000 square metres of dedicated parking directly outside our facility. This gives us a sizeable advantage at LBG where many of our competitors for varying reasons, are presently unable to increase their own ramp space, leading to the not ideal situation of marshalling aircraft onto limited and congested parking aprons.”

Gulvin added: “The increase was partly necessary due to another unprecedented year of handling traffic, up by 18 per cent at the end of October this year compared to the total traffic for 2001 and a combined increase of 28 per cent from 2000. In addition we saw a lot more move-ments by BBJ/A319CJ size aircraft.”
