Disagreements lead to management shake-up at Gestair
Cesar Pita has taken over as general manager of Spain’s Gestair after former manager Jose Espinosa was dismissed. “Mr Espinosa and the company’s president didn’t agree on the way to manage Gestair. I guess they both wanted to take the company in different directions, so the president decided to replace Mr Espinosa,” a company spokesperson told EBAN.

Espinosa was appointed general manager in February 1999, after being with the company for around ten years. His replacement, Cesar Pita, has been promoted from chief of maintenance to take the position. “Mr Pita has been with the company for many years and was appointed three weeks after Mr Spinosa left,” the spokesperson added. Espinosa is now the general manager of Sky Service.

Meanwhile, the company has also been awarded an appreciation award from Gulfstream. “This makes 2002 a great year for us, since we’ve celebrated the addition of our second Global Express and Gestair’s 25th anniversary,” said the spokesperson. The company has a number of Gulfstream aircraft, including a GV, two GIVs and a GIIB.

Gestair subsidiary Audeli, another Spanish-based charter company, has also added a Legacy to its AOC. EBAN recently reported that Spanish company Fadesa had bought the aircraft.

The spokesperson confirmed that Audeli will be managing the Legacy for its owner, as well as offering it

for charter.
