Garrett Aviation Services and Sierra Industries have signed a teaming agreement to modify the Citation 500/501SP series with the ‘Eagle wing modification’ and the latest Williams/Rolls FJ44-2A fanjet engines.
This new offering is called the Sierra/Garrett FJ44Eagle II.
Combining Sierra’s FAA STC for the Eagle modification and its recently awarded FAA approval for the Williams re-engining, the team will produce and service the new product through Garrett’s US network of service centres.
“This programme makes the 500 and 501SP very competitive with the best of today’s business jets at a significantly lower cost.
“We are excited and proud to have Garrett join us in this programme. The Garrett resources will not only benefit Sierra’s abilities, but our owner base as well,” said Tom Canavera, sales manager for Sierra.
