RotorWay is celebrating an anniversary this year at AirVenture 2002. It was 35 years ago that the first RotorWay helicopter premiered at the event, marking the beginning of the company.

With earlier attempts at a kit helicopter as early as 1961, it was not until 1967 when the company’s first production helicopter, the Scorpion, was offered to the public.

“Having just recently gone over the 600th sold mark for the Exec 162F, and counting, the next 35 years promise to be even better and more exciting than the last,” said marketing director Susie Bell.
