Meridian approved as ice shield installers
Bournemouth’s Meridian Aviation Limited has been appointed as a certified installation centre for a new range of pneumatic de-icers.

Bournemouth’s Meridian Aviation Limited has been appointed as a certified installation centre for a new range of pneumatic de-icers. This follows a training programme given by two North American engineers.

Certification for the de-icing systems has already been given on a large number of aircraft manufactured by Piper, Beech and Cessna. Paul Randall, parts division sales executive at Meridian, said: “We can install Ice Shield’s de-ice boots at a competitive price for aircraft owners against other de-icing product manufacturers who have held a strong market share for some time.”

The pneumatic de-icers that are installed on the leading edges of aircraft wings and other surfaces are inflated whilst flying to prevent ice forming and endangering the flight.
