The DRF-Deutsche Rettungsflugwacht e.V (German Air Rescue) has expanded its existing fleet by purchasing two new EC 135 P-2 helicopters.

The DRF-Deutsche Rettungsflugwacht e.V (German Air Rescue) has expanded its existing fleet

by purchasing two new EC 135 P-2 helicopters. This takes its tally of such aircraft to three.

Both helicopters, says manufacturer Eurocopter Germany, are equipped with modern medical technology and high performance engines. They are to be used as emergency rescue helicopters and can be

loaded from both the rear and left side.

All specifications have been met pursuant to JAR OPS 3.

The cockpits have been installed with an optimised flight operation system, an electronic moving map and NVG-compatible lighting, enabling future installation of night vision equipment. The interior was designed and completed by Aerolite.

DRF and TEAM DRF, consisting of its partners HSD, HDM and Rotorflug, operate 41 helicopters from their 28 air-rescue centres in Germany.
