Dr Arnaud Derossi, head of Medic’Air International, is leaving the company. Dr Raffin, already in charge of general management, is replacing him.
Dr Derossi is to take up a new role as an aeromedical and telemedicine consultant.
Dr Derossi said that he had seen “huge improvement” in the company over the 10 years. The main difference he emphasised was the company’s involvement in an increasing number of air ambulance flights compared to commercial flights.
He will use his experience gained from Medic’Air in his new role as an aeromedical and telemedicine consultant. He explained that aeromedicine involves any activities surrounding aircraft and patients. This can include providing advice regarding equipment, concept of use of equipment, improvement in the aircraft facilities and involvement in the aircraft manufacturing.
He added that telemedicine requires awareness of how to efficiently send medical data to the ground, in order to gain advice on landing when there is a medical issue on a commercial aircraft.
Dr Derossi stated that he will remain a shareholder and member of the board of directors at Medic’Air, but will not be involved in any more operational activity in the company.
Medic’Air is a Paris-based company which provides medical and aeromedical services for a worldwide client base.
This includes air-ambulance flights, medical escorts on commercial flights, medical management of crisis situations, vip medical escort and events medical security.
The majority of its operations are carried out in Western and Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Middle East and Central Asia.
