Cessna Aircraft Company celebrated the assembly line roll-out of the 500th Citation 525, a CJ1, and the 100th Citation CJ2 on June 7, 2002.
“These milestones are a testament to Cessna's commitment to address the requirements of our customers,” said Charlie Johnson, Cessna's president and chief operating officer. “Because of their high performance and low operating cost, there is a high demand for these entry level jet aircraft as a replacement for turboprops. Their acceptance by the general aviation community is evidenced by the number we have produced and delivered in a relatively short amount of time.”
The Citation 525 took its first flight in 1991. To date, 493 Citation 525s are operating in 280 countries and
have logged more than 550,000 flight hours.
The CJ2 was one of four aircraft introduced at the 1998 NBAA convention.
Since the first delivery in 2000, 75 CJ2s are now in service, operating in seven countries with more than 15,500 flight hours logged.
