Honeywell has extended availability of its cost-saving package of services for users of the company's Airborne Flight Information System (AFIS) and similar data communications systems from Teledyne and Universal in Europe and the Middle East.
Each new “Plan A” subscription entitles the user to have Honeywell’s Global Data Center (GDC) prepare and file up to 100 flight plans per month and gives them unlimited use of weather, air traffic control and other GDC services when accessed via the internet, telephone, or airborne very high frequency radio.
“Active users could save over 25 per cent on this subscription,” said James Falen of the GDC. “Other users will also benefit by having access to much more weather and traffic information for about the same price they are paying now.”
The package includes the most popular services of the GDC for a fixed annual fee. GDC services are available to users of Honeywell’s AFIS as well as Teledyne’s TeleLink and Universal Avionics’ UniLink data communications systems. The “Plan A” subscription was previously available only in North America.
