Air Luxor has begun operating a brand new Citation X. The aircraft is managed on behalf of a Portuguese client and is based in Lisbon. Spokeswoman Silvia Mirpuri told EBAN: “This is the first Citation X we’ve had on our books and joins our existing Falcon 20, 900, 2000, Citation II and Citation Excel.”
The aircraft – which is capable of performing missions up to 3,000nm – has double-club seating for eight passengers, has a large closet for hanging suits and offers flight entertainment equipment including Airshow and DVD player.
Since its arrival in May this year, the X has already made a trip to Ireland and says Air Luxor, will
likely fly on a regular basis to Europe and Africa.
Meanwhile, it is now seven months since Air Luxor inaugurated a new business aviation centre in the former Portuguese colony of Cape Verde. The centre - which is located at Sall International Airport – is said to be the only one of its kind on the island and provides executive jets with refuelling, catering, cleaning, light line assistance and medical attention.
Said Mirpuri: “It is open 24 hours a day and also has rooms available with videoconferencing and internet connections which permit those who wish, the possibility of continuing any meeting started during a flight and interrupted due to a landing.
“Besides these rooms, the centre also has a kitchen and a space to relax.”
Cape Verde, according to Mirpuri, is a developing country with good beaches and a tremendously
hot climate.
She said: “Although historically it’s always been quite a poor country, the bigger hotel chains are now investing in the Island which is attracting more and more tourists.”
Cape Verde comprises a group of islands situated in the North Atlantic Ocean, directly west of Senegal
in Africa.
