Farnborough Airport is gearing up to host the 2002 Farnborough International Airshow (FI). Running from July 22 to 28, FI is expecting to match the 130,000 visitors who visited in 2000. “The show is sold out on self-build stand space and chalets, although there are still some limited opportunities for some shell scheme stands,” said a spokesperson.

The layout of the static aircraft parks and the arrangements for aircraft participating only in the flying display will operate in a similar way to FI98 and FI2002. However, this year will see new arrangements put in place for aircraft involved in both the morning static display and afternoon flying display.

By arrangement with TAG Aviation, at times outside the flying display period, exhibitors, customers and visitors will be able to utilise fixed-wing business aircraft to fly into the site. The heliport will also operate as in previous years. The terminal for fixed-wing aircraft will be situated on the north side of the aerodrome, operational from 0700 to 1330 and 1700 to 2200 each day.
