Out with the old and in with the new for Oxford's Euro Executive Jet
British Citation I operator Euro Executive Jet has received its JAR-OPS 1 AOC. The Oxford-based charter company's certification will allow flying to commence on its Citation, which has just returned to service after a calender inspection, interior upgrade and the installation of a new avionics package to meet 8.33 mHz compliance. The aircraft is configured to offer a variety of cabin options for five to seven passengers and an air ambulance fit. The AOC also allows for the Citation to carry cargo.

British Citation I operator Euro Executive Jet has received its JAR-OPS 1 AOC. \rThe Oxford-based charter company's certification will allow flying to commence on its Citation, which has just returned to service after a calender inspection, interior upgrade and the installation of a new avionics package to meet 8.33 mHz compliance. The aircraft is configured to offer a variety of cabin options for five to seven passengers and an air ambulance fit. The AOC also allows for the Citation to carry cargo.\rSteve Loveridge, Euro Executive Jet operations director, spoke to EBAN: "The Citation I needed a bit of TLC, including some interior work. As soon as we finished maintenance, we did the testing flight and the paperwork, and received our AOC."\rDual Garmin GNS-430 equipment has been installed on the company's Citation I, replacing the original Rockwell Collins equipment to supply the cockpit with built in GPS with moving map. Euro Executive Jet claims that "the Garmin equipment is believed to be the first operating in an aircraft of this calibre in the UK market." \rLoveridge was quick to praise the new avionics: "It's almost a mini flight-management system. It's user friendly and presents information clearly."\rBookings for the jet have been slow because of the time of year, said Loveridge. "The financial community which dictates the market is active up until October, then begins to relax towards Christmas. It's not a surprise.\r"After the prolonged period of preparing the aircraft to its own requirements, and the issue of the JAR-OPS 1 certificate, we are now up and running and looking forward to a busy time," said Loveridge. "Whilst the Christmas and new year period is historically less busy, and especially with the millennium celebrations this time round, the aircraft will be available throughout the period having complied with the necessary CAA and insurers' year 2000 requirements." \rThe Citation I is planned for a repaint early next year to complete its upgrade programme and Euro Executive Jet plans to add to its fleet during the year.
