ACE 2026 - The home of global charter.
The bimonthly news publication for aviation professionals.
Amadeus Flugdienst purchased a Cessna 421B in August. The aircraft began flying at the start of November, and joins the company's existing 421B in Hahn, Germany. Jorg Kunkel of Amadeus Flugdienst spoke to EBAN about the 421B Golden Eagles flown by the company:\r"It is the cheapest aircraft in this category," he stated. "You can get better planes, but the performance of the 421B is enough for us - 80 per cent of our missions are within the German border, to places like Hamburg and Berlin. Our passengers like the aircraft very much, more than the CitationJet or the King Air 90, because the cabin is larger. We usually fly with four passengers rather than the maximum of six, to increase passenger's comfort."\rDeriving from the 411, which made it first flight in 1962, 700 421Bs were made by Cessna. Amadeus Flugdienst undertakes corporate charter and has flown 100 hours in its recent acquisition. Bookings this year have been accepted for trips to Nairobi and Egypt.\r"Business aviation is a very good market to be in at the moment in Germany," said Kunkel. "The market is going to increase. People are realising that air charter is the way to travel in view of road congestion."
