A319CJ receives the XXL treatment from Lufthansa Technik
Lufthansa Technik is completing its first A319 Corporate Jetliner as an XXL at its centre in Hamburg. A Boeing 777 also arrived at Hamburg for cabin completion, and its Saudi Arabian owner announced that two BBJs are to be given the XXL treatment. The A319 is due to be delivered to the Italian government in January 2000, and Lufthansa Technik says that completion is proceeding on schedule. The company took advantage of the Dubai Air Show to report the A319's progress.

The company took advantage of the Dubai Air Show to report the A319's progress. \r"Lufthansa was the first customer for this Airbus narrowbody, and we are servicing more than 100 aircraft of this type in our customers' fleets," said Wolfgang Mayrhuber, chairman of Lufthansa Technik's executive board. "For over 40 years we have been a reliable partner to governments and heads of state around the globe. It was this that helped convince the Italian government to entrust the equipping of its Airbus 319CJ to the completion centre on the Elbe river."\rThe Saudi Arabian Boeing 777 is the first to be completed by Lufthansa Technik, as senior vp of marketing and sales Jurgen Wilken acknowledged: "We've already converted all the standard Boeing and Airbus models to vip aircraft, but the "triple seven" is still a real challenge for us, especially in view of the owner's challenging time frame."
