UK-based Cabair Flying Schools has selected PILOTbrief International service to provide weather briefing service for its eight flying schools. Cabair chose the service, which is produced by Litton Weather Services International (WSI) and delivered over the internet, after extensive trials at its Cranfield and Elstree sites. \rIt has now been installed at Cabair's schools at Biggin Hill, Blackbushe, Denham, Bournemouth and Redhill. PILOTbrief International on the Net (http://try.pilotbrief.com) is a weather and NOTAM service for professional and recreational flyers for pre-flight briefing and operations decision-support.\rWSI says the new service will enable Cabair's flying instructors and students to get statutory weather data, including real-time METARs and TAFs and the latest low level significant weather and spot wind charts. In addition, they will receive hourly UK rainfall radar and satellite imagery. \rThe service package for Cabair also includes a professional student training folder. This provides the same WSI colour charts for fog prediction, significant weather, icing and turbulence and satellite movie loops that are used by WSI's other airline and airport customers.\r"The additional products that we can obtain from PILOTbrief International and the wider distribution that the internet allows will help enhance our student's awareness of the weather, and provide them with a better understanding of the meteorology relevant to pilots" says Colin Heathcote, managing director of Cabair Flying Schools. \r"We see internet technology as an increasingly important tool for our business as it continues to expand."\rPILOTbrief International can be accessed from any personal computer with an internet connection and, as no special software is installed on Cabair's computers, upgrades and enhancements to the service do not require a change of software at the eight sites.
