Aerodata Flugmesstechnik has won a contract to outfit the most recently sold Global Express. It is scheduled for delivery from Bombardier's de Havilland facility in Toronto, to Aerodata's headquarters in Braunschweig, Germany in December 2000.\rBombardier's new customer is the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB), which will deploy the Global Express in a flight inspection and calibration role. \rAerodata says it will be responsible for the design, integration and certification of the special mission aircraft while ITOCHU Corporation, Bombardier's exclusive representative in Japan, is the prime contractor.\rRobert Gillespie, president Bombardier Aerospace, Business Aircraft, said of the late November sale: "This marks the second consecutive occasion where a top-ranked government agency has clearly explored all its options, scrutinised all the aircraft in its class - and then selected the Global Express."\rIt follows the UK Ministry of Defence selection for five Global Express aircraft for its Airborne Stand-Off Radar programme (ASTOR) announced at this year's Paris Air Show.\r"Both the JCAB and UK MoD are respected worldwide for their high standards and exacting criteria," said Gillespie. "These two decisions speak highly of the Global Express and we're confident they will result in further opportunities."
