More than 600 hours of FAA flight testing have been completed by the Raytheon Premier I since testing began on November 3. In mid-November, Raytheon aircraft conducted high speed envelope expansion flights which involved taking the Premier I above its normal Mach.83 operating envelope to Mach.86. All handling qualities were reportedly unimpaired at that speed. A privately owned T-38 supersonic jet trainer was used as a chase aeroplane. The aircraft was tested with artificial ice shapes on the empennage and engine pylons, and has also completed tests for FlightSafety International, who are building the Premier I's simulator.
