Green light for Halfpenny's 'Rotor Village'
Halfpenny Green airport says its holding company has plans to develop it into the business airport for the West Midlands, UK. The company has obtained planning permission from South Staffordshire council for three new hangars to house helicopter operations in a development to be known as the 'Rotor Village'. David Poyner, director of ADL, who is developing the airport with owners Bobbington Estates, said: "The Rotor Village development will cost over £750,000 and should be completed in spring, 2000. "The three facilities are for Heliflight, the helicopter training and charter operator; for the West Midlands police helicopter base for the newly acquired Eurocopter; and Bobbington Estates' new helicopter facility."
