Schneider Air Service, a repair station based at Friedrichschafen Airport, has recently extended its type rating approval to cover most of the Piper and Cessna piston twins and the Citation business jets including the CitationJet and the Citation II Bravo. \rThe facility also has a battery shop and equipment for windshield and window polishing and repairs. In partnership with Romanian Airport Services at Bucharest's Baneasa Airport, the company reportedly has exclusive dealer rights for New Piper aircraft and Vector Training Systems in Romania. \rEugen Schneider, president of SAS, used to work for charter operators Kuri Flugdienst of Friedrichschafen, Germany. He left the company to form SAS, which received JAR-145 certification in June 1998. \rSaid Schneider: "The decision to start my own company was the a well timed step. The certification time was the most difficult as it was hard to convince the "hard proved" authority inspectors that we were not another one of those aviation failures.
