The first flight flew in from Paris at 7.30 am, and the last was at 1.30 pm, when the British Queen arrived with the Duke of Edinburgh in Royal Flight BAe 146. Other vip guests included the Irish prime minister Bertie A'Hearn in a Mitsubishi Solitaire, the British Princess Royal in a Sikorsky 76 and the French president Jacques Chirac in a Falcon 900. \r"The airport handled arriving aircraft every few minutes. In terms of the time scale of arriving aircraft, it was the busiest day in the airport's history," said a spokesman for Cardiff International. "Unlike last year when we had the benefit of months of meticulous planning prior to the EU council meeting, this time we had only a few days. However, the event was an overall success."
