Trace Worldwide's completion centre at London Biggin Hill airport, and Air Group Aviation's (AGA) completion centre at Tyler, Texas, are to be merged. As the first step of the agreed merger, Air Group has taken a shareholding in Trace's Biggin Hill business.\r The final deal, expected to be completed later this spring, will result in a new company, jointly owned by the two companies. Both airliners and corporate jets will be catered for.\rTrace Worldwide says that the two centres have complimentary strengths: Trace designs, manu-factures and installs commercial and vip interiors, and claims to specialise in multi-mission role-change interiors for fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. AGA's Texas facility, formerly Tyler Jet Completions, undertakes the design, fabrication and installation of aircraft interior structures, cabin entertainment and communications systems, as well as specialising in the installation of avionics. \rThe combined operation will employ over 200 people in the US and UK. Collective approvals include JAR 145, JAR 21, CAA E2 MOD A1 and FAA 145. \rJohn Douglass, president of Trace Worldwide, said: "The partners are making a significant investment in this venture. One result will be the immediate expansion of Biggin Hill in terms of staffing and production capability."
