Bearing Inspection Inc. (BII) has announced plans to provide specialised rotary wing reconditioning programmes with reduced turn times of 30-45 days. BII says it can handle the inspection and reconditioning of bearings for helicopter engines from Bell, Sikorsky, Pratt and Whitney, Rolls-Royce Allison, Boeing/McDonnell Douglas and Honeywell/Allied Signal.\r"A new operations and sales team was recently put into place and one of their prime initiatives is to design bearing reconditioning programmes that can be tailored to the specific needs of an individual market segment," said Jim Pape, vp of BII. "Cycle times for bearings in rotary aircraft are much shorter than that of fixed wing aircraft and replacement costs are high."
